Join us for fun, free classes in East Coast Swing Dancing!
This Fall BUMC is hosting a free Dance Class for energetic adults 18 years and above. East Coast Swing is known for being accessible and beginner-friendly, so No experience necessary!
East Coast Swing is a lively, social partner dance that evolved from Lindy Hop in the 1940s–1950s and is the most accessible social dance there is. It’s energetic without being intimidating, musical without requiring years of training, and fun in ways that very few other dances match. It’s danced to a wide variety of upbeat music including big band jazz, rock & roll, country, and contemporary pop.
No partner needed - Leads and Follows can be matched up, and we’ll ensure there is a good balance. Changing partners throughout the classes helps you learn faster and builds community within the group.
